Hope-Princeton Highway Postcard

Found this old postcard from 1962.
On the back it reads,
“ON THE HOPE-PRINCETON HIGHWAY
“An effective warning at the site of an extensive burned area which contrasts sharply with the magnificent British Columbia forests elsewhere along the highway.”
Considering this months massive number of forest fires in the province, I’m lead to believe that the warning wasn’t very effective.

“Let’s dance.” I asked her
Knowing full well the answer.
No harm in trying.
Surprise! She said, “Yes.”
We stumble to the dance floor
Got to Love playing.
Later she told me
Like a refugee come home
Right away, she knew!
Saturdays we go
To talk, hear jazz and slow dance
Till sleep brings us home.
* In case you’re wondering, that is Juliette Binoche dancing with Johnny Depp in image #3. And the song “Got to Love” is a title track from Laila Biali’s latest jazz album. “Let’s Dance,” “Refugee,” and “We Go” are also song titles from the album found in the haikus.

“As Time Goes By”
I think about
“All the Things You Are”
Like
“Unforgettable”
“’S wonderful! ‘S marvelous”
There’s no one
“Exactly Like You”
You are
“Somethin’ Else”
“The Birth of Cool”
“Till There Was You”
I was, “Kind of Blue”
But now
“The Very Thought Of You”
Makes me say
“What A Wonderful World”
